Hurley was chosen in 1997 to join the US Naval Test Pilot Program in TK, Maryland, and later graduated from the Naval Strike Aircraft Research Squadron (VX-23), as a flight instructor and project manager. The very first Navy pilot to serve on the F/A-18E / F Super Hornet fighter planes was Hurley, and he became a very successful pilot. Approximately over 25 separate aircraft models, he has reported over 5500 hours of flight time.

As Behnken, in July 2000, Hurley was appointed as an astronaut at NASA. Upon two years of preparation, he was chosen as a pilot and allocated to professional positions in TK’s spacecraft department, acting as a leading probe astronaut support team, STS-107, and STS-121. Hurley worked in Star City, Russia, and as the NASA Operational Chief for Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre.

Furthermore, in 2009, Hurley initially launched to space as an STS-127 astronaut on the ST’s Endeavour. After that, he worked as the intelligence director of the astronaut department. Similarly, at the last Space Shuttle Flight, STS-135, he traveled on the Atlantis shuttle in 2011. Hurley was then named deputy manager of the flight test directorate professional crew project in 2014. He remained on the STS-127 for 15 days and operated more than 12 days in space with the STS-135.

Virgin Orbit’s First Mishap

Virgin Orbit’s launch is the firm’s first to go sideways. On May 25th, the firm’s report shows the rocket’s termination moments after its launch. Hart states that the first launch is a clear lesson for the firm that air launch is a challenge. He further adds that though the flight was in the short run, the firm is improvising more technical systems to outshine the first one.

Hart comments that they are doing further research to ensure the success of the next launch. Various of the rocket’s equipment is under testing to identify their vulnerabilities and improve on them.

The company’s LauncherOne is an initial project of Virgin Galactic. The firm hopes to utilize the suborbital vehicles of the spacecraft on LauncherOne. Virgin Orbit is a subset program of Virgin Galactic. Virgin Galactic expects that the firm can use LauncherOne to expand its operations. They are positive that this firm can act as a source of growth for the primary firm.

Virgin Galactic’s separation from LauncherOne is to allow Virgin Orbit to be independent. The firm hopes that Orbit will take care of security customers. Hart claims that they have the latest launch vehicle in comparison to their competitors. He says that LauncherOne is far ahead than the competitors’ upcoming space vehicles. Hart says that the team’s morale is still high, and they have more determination after the first launch mishap.

“The sense I have from the whole team is that there’s no doubt in anybody’s mind that we’ll quickly get to root cause and address it.”

X-37B spaceship set to ferry DOD and NASA experiments in the forthcoming mission

WASHINGTON -The sixth operation of the United States of America Air Force’s renewable X-37B spaceship is set to lift off on May 16 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station located in Florida. 

The X-37B Operational Test Vehicle 6 will be sending off to low Earth orbit by a United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 spaceship. The Rapid Capability Office of the Air Force is the owner of the Boeing-made ship that takes off and lands autonomously. The United States of America Space Force is accountable for the send-off, on-orbit missions, and the vehicle’s landing.

Barbara Barrett, who is the Air Force Secretary confirmed during a May 6 online event hosted by the Space Foundation that OTV 6 is set to carry more testing compared to any of the last X-37B operations.

The manager of the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office, Randy Walden, confirmed in a statement that the future X-37B mission is going to be the first to make use of the service module in hosting experiments. Renault Shifting production to China

While the world is reeling in the aftermath of a global pandemic, Renault is looking to the future. The French-based automaker recently announced a move to halt its petrol car production in China. The move comes after Renault realizing China as the world’s most expansive market for cars. 

Amid speculation, Renault China released it’s the newest model, the KZE, which is primarily Renault’s first all-electric city car. The KZE is a brainchild of a partnership between Renault, and tech-based automotive company eGT New Energy Automotive Co. Renault has a 25% bid on the partnership 

The French automaker will focus on producing a range of 4 new EVs in collaboration with Jiangxi Jiangling Group Electric Vehicle. According to the agreement, Renault will gain a 49% stake in the joint agreement with automaking company Brilliance. The venture aims to produce all-electric, light consumer-based vehicles 

According to Chinas Renault Chairman Francois Provost, the firm looks to establish itself in the electric vehicle business and light commercial vehicles. Francois further iterates that there is hope for the electrical division in Renault as electric vehicle sales are on the rise. 

The Renault KZE comes as the latest electric car to hit the market segment. Though its inclusion seems rather recent, it’s a concept that has been in the works since 2019. Yet it features top of the range specifications like a massive 26.8kWh battery pack coming at a reasonably priced $9000.
