Riding on the roaring success of the Crysta, Toyota has now launched the Innova Touring Sport in India at a starting price of Rs. 17.79 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Mechanically similar to the Crysta, the Toyota Innova Touring Sport receives additions which cosmetically try to transform the car’s image to make it appeal to a younger audience.
Changes on the outside include an all-black front Grille with smoked chrome finish, Smoked chrome headlamp ornament and fog lamp bezel, new Matte Black alloy wheels, black Spoiler with chrome inserts on Front and Rear bumpers, black wheel Arch cladding, rocker mould with Chrome inserts and black rear door garnish. The Innova Touring Sport will be offered in two new colours – Wildfire (Red) along with White Pearl Crystal Shine.
The cabin receives a host of sporty changes in the form of Red Illuminating 3D Design Combination Meter with a large TFT Multi Information Display, steering wheel with black-wood & sporty red stitch, unique red wood pattern on the instrument panel, black wood finish rear door inner garnish, a seat back table & console box, sporty red stitching on the seat, console box, shift lever and parking brake.
The new Toyota Innova Touring Sport will be sold with a 2.8 litre diesel engine mated with a 6 speed Automatic, whereas the 5 speed speed manual version is powered by the 2.4 litre diesel powerplant. There is also a choice of a 2.7L petrol engine with 6 speed automatic and a 5 speed manual transmission. The new variant gets most bells and whistles from the top spec variants like 7 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), ABS with EBD and Brake Assist (BA).
