Mary Kom Is My Favorite, Says Zaira Wasim, Would Love To Play Her On Screen
The young actress won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 2016 film, "Dangal."
Mary Kom is the favorite sportsperson of Zaira Wasim and the “Dangal” girl would love to play her on-screen if a film is made on the world champion boxer next time.
Zaira Wasim may have played a wrestler in her debut film “Dangal” but Mary Kom, the boxing champion, is her favorite sportsperson. The 17-year-old actress says that she has been in love with Mary Kom ever since she got involved with the Rotary Club. While speaking at a press conference organized to announce the eleventh edition of the Bengaluru Midnight Marathon, she said that if a film on the Olympic winner is made once again, she would love to play her on screen.
Notably, Zaira Wasim is the youth ambassador of the Bengaluru marathon that will be held on Dec 16 -17. The young actress was recently seen in her second movie “Secret Superstar” where she played an aspiring singer and her performance won her glowing reviews from critics. It also turned out to be a success at the box office. Now, she has become a popular face in Bollywood and recently Aamir Khan called her an inspiration for the youths across the country.
Well, Wasim also has her own inspirations and apart from Mary Kom, Virat Kohli also figures on her list. She said at the conference that she is in awe of the cricketer. When asked about future plans, she said that she does not believe in making plans and believes in destiny. Shedding further light, she said that in the past three years she has realized that plans do not materialize because destiny has its own plans. She also revealed that as of now, she is focusing on her studies.
It is worth mentioning here that Zaira Wasim comes from Kashmir and rose to fame after playing the child Geeta Phogat in the blockbuster “Dangal.”
