The Honor 7X smartphone will launch in India in December. This device was globally launched by the Huawei-owned company in October. Honor’s Global President George Zhao told IANS in an interview that the company plans to launch the Honor 7X in India at an “unbeatable price.” Zhao said that the price at which the Honor 7X will be launched in India will be such that it ensures that the device will have no competition in its price segment.
The introduction of the Honor 7X in India at this low price is part of the company’s plans to become India’s number one smartphone brand in the next three years. The Honor 7X will reportedly be available online and offline as the company looks to improve its offline retail footprint and increase marketing efforts to ensure it becomes the leader in the smartphone market in India.
“We will launch Honor 7X in December at such a price that it will have no competitor in that segment,” Zhao said to a group of journalists while revealing the company’s roadmap for India in Chendgu, China.
“Honor began manufacturing in India with the Holly series. It is the first brand to respond to the Government of India’s request for SOS feature on phones,” Zhao said, adding that the company will further increase its manufacturing footprint in India. “Honor shipped 98.8 per cent more devices in 2017 than in 2016. But in India, we need strengthen offline channels,” Zhao said.
The Honor 7X smartphone sports a 5.93-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and full-HD+ (1080x2160px) resolution. The device also comes with dual cameras at the rear. It runs on the EMUI 5.1 custom skin based on Android 7.0 Nougat, and is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC paired with 4GB RAM. The battery capacity is 3340mAh.
