Hasan Minhaj Speaks About Roasting Donald Trump At WHCA Dinner; Says No One Came Forward For The Gig
Hasan Minhaj has come into the limelight after his WHCA (White House Correspondents Association) dinner roast and now the Indian-origin Muslim comedian has spoken about the event saying that it was an honor to perform but it is also true that no one else wanted to do the gig.
The recently-held WHCA dinner has been making headlines after comedian Hasan Minhaj took the stage at the event, roasting President Donald Trump. According to Huffington Post, Minhaj said that it was an honor to be there at the event but then it was also true that no one else wanted to do the gig. With a sarcastic undertone he said that since no one took it, it ended up going to an immigrant as that is how things have been going.
Notably, Hasan Minhaj was at his comic best during the Saturday night WHCA dinner where he roasted Donald Trump as well as his aides. He did not mince his words in taking the media to the task as well and his gig has been grabbing eyeballs and applause from all parts of the world. Minhaj also took due cognizance of the fact that he had the independence to do so.
During his stage performance, Hasan Minhaj wondered if anyone could have thought that a Muslim would take the center stage, especially in present-day America. Then he went on tickling the funny bones of the audience with his take on free speech, immigrants, press freedom and other topics that have acquired more significance ever since Donald Trump assumed office as the President of United States.
It is worth mentioning here that Hasan Minhaj is an Indian Muslim migrant with roots in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. He has done his graduation in Political Science and it was “Never Scared,” Chris Rock’s show that motivated him to take up comedy writing which ultimately helped him become an established comedian.
