Varun Dhawan has filed a police complaint against a female fan stalking him on WhatsApp and also threatening to commit suicide if he did not respond to her messages.
It is not just Bollywood actresses who bear the brunt of stalking at the hands of obsessive fans, male actors are also victims and this time it is Varun Dhawan who is facing the trauma of such an obsessive female fan. The “Judwaa 2” actor has been under the attack of a female fan who has bombarded him with messages on WhatsApp so much so that he had to file a police complaint against her. He has also sent a complaint to the cyber police station.
Sources say that Varun was so fed up with the stalking that he blocked her number but then she called him from an unknown number threatening to commit suicide if he did not respond to her messages. Shocked and scared, he consulted his legal advisors and went to the police with the complaint.
The Santacruz police station has also confirmed the stalking incident and the subsequent filing of complaint by the actor. A police officer revealed that Varun Dhawan approached them with a complaint and the police are looking into the matter. They are trying to find out the details of the stalker and the number from which the 30-year-old actor received the threatening call.
However, the number has been switched off after the said call. Well, Varun Dhawan is the chocolaty young hero of Bollywood and enjoys a huge fan following. He is very popular among females but this stalking incident does reveal the ugly side of stardom and the troubles it brings along with itself.
On the work front, Varun Dhawan is currently shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s “October” in Delhi. It will also mark the debut of actress Banita Sandhu. He also has Yash Raj Banner’s “Sui Dhaaga” in his kitty.
