Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor are set to promote “Padmavati” On “Bigg Boss” 11 with host Salman Khan actively supporting the period drama.
The controversy around “Padmavati” has gotten fiercer but the team is undeterred by the opposition their film is facing. The lead pair Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor are all set to arrive on “Bigg Boss” 11 to promote the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed period drama. Sources say that the sets of “Bigg Boss” will be given a royal look similar to a palace to welcome the duo. Also, the contestants are preparing their performances to greet Rani Padmavati and Maharawal Ratan Singh.
When the two arrive, the housemates will get a chance to interact with the “Padmavati” pair. Notably, the makers of the magnum opus have been treading a careful path with relation to the promotions of the film. They have kept things low-key but looks like the hugely-popular “Bigg Boss” has made them rethink their strategy and they have decided to promote the movie on Salman Khan’s reality show.
Speaking of Salman Khan, the superstar has been quite vocal in his support for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmavati.” He has strongly condemned the political groups against the film saying that Bhansali is known to make beautiful films and his work has never featured any vulgar or disgusting content. So, his record speaks for his credentials and one can be sure of no distasteful portrayal of Rajput culture or women in the film.
As fans know, some political and cultural outfits are demanding a ban on “Padmavati” as they believe that the film has a romantic angle between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji. They also think that Rajput culture has been portrayed in a poor light in the yet-to-be-released film.
It may be mentioned here that “Padmavati” is based on the life of Rani Padmini of Chittor who had committed Jauhar (self-immolation) to protect her honor from a besotted Alauddin Khilji who had waged a war against her husband Maharawal Ratan Singh to capture her.
