Deepika Padukone Feels ‘Padmavati’ Is Blessed, Quiet On Receiving Higher Fees Than Male Co-stars
“Padmavati” is slated for a releases on Dec 1.
Deepika Padukone feels that “Padmavati” is blessed by the soul of Rani Padmini but she does not have anything to say about getting higher fees than her male co-stars in the upcoming period drama.
Deepika Padukone’s upcoming film “Padmavati” faced many problems during the course of its making and even now that it is ready to release, the challenges refuse to die but the leading lady of the movie is confident. She feels that her film has been blessed by the soul of Rani Padmini. During the 3D trailer launch of epic drama, the 31-year-old actress said that she could feel the legendary queen’s presence and affirmed that she has felt it before as well.
Explaining further, she said that there is some energy beyond the realm of human existence and it is this energy that has seen “Padmavati” through. She said that despite encountering challenges, the team has not done anything and everything has fallen into place and this is because the creative energies of the team are in the right place. She again emphasized on the presence of Rani Padmini and her blessing the movie.
Nevertheless, the dimpled beauty dodged the questions related to her “Padmavati” fees. When asked about the rumors of her getting higher fees than her male co-stars, she merely said that talking about her fees is not exciting at all but she is proud of the money that she has gotten for the film. She also said that she is happy that the producers have invested such a big amount in the period drama and it makes her proud that the movie has a poster featuring her.
Those who do not know, rumors were rife in August that Deepika Padukone had received Rs 13 crore for the film while her co-stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were paid only 10 crore. This was quite surprising as male stars are known to get a bigger pay cheque than female stars. Nevertheless, it could be true as “Padmavati” has Deepika in the lead role and the film revolves around her.
